Kinetic Void is a sandbox space simulation game by Badland Studio with an emphasis on player customization.
While I find it extremely difficult to resist space adventures and exploration, Kinetic Void has captured my interest with an intriguing take on the Space sim genre. In the game, you are able to completely design the function and aesthetics of your ship. If you want to be a fast-flying space pirate you can, but be sure to design a vessel that allows you to pillage and purge. If you decide to be a trader, be sure to design a ship with ample cargo space for your goods. Each and every component you add to the ship has an effect on the ship’s functionality, and you can color each component on it’s own as well. You will then be able to pilot the ship you’ve designed ingame but beware, each individual component can be damaged and will effect the ship. For instance, if your ship’s engines get blasted out in a firefight, you just might find yourself aimlessly drifting through space. If you do have to start again, the randomly generated galaxies will keep you playing and the game world will dynamically change as factions relationships shift and new enemies emerge. Even though the game is still under development, the graphics and textures already look crisp and detailed. Kinetic Void clearly has a lot of promise, and is a game that everyone should be taking a look at and casting their vote.
